We Will be Judged Jesus’s Words NOT Bossy Christians
Many of us are controlled and bossed around by what people think. Even if we think something that is true, we are reserved and speaking out that truth because we are fearful of what people may say, they may call us name, or call us a false prophet or cast us out of the church. It is true today and it was also true during the times of Jesus with the Jews. But each and every single one of us will be judged according to the words of Jesus NOT some church and their doctrine, not some preacher on the internet or in some church. We won’t be judged according to the rules of our parents or our grandparents or anyone else. We will be judged according to the words of Jesus, those are the words that will judge us when we take our last breath.
I want to read to you John chapter 12 starting in verse 42; “Nevertheless even among the rulers many believed in Him (being Jesus), but because of Pharisees they did not confessed Him, lest they be put out of the synagogue, for they love the praise of men more than the praise of God.” See, even during Jesus’s time, many of the Jews saw the miracles of Jesus, they saw what Jesus was doing and they wanted to believe in Him, but because they fear the religious crowd, they were scared to speak up and to walk with Jesus, they just kept it inside of them instead of proclaiming the truth of God.
“Then Jesus cried out and said; ‘He who believes in Me, believes not in Me, but in Him who sent Me, and He who sees Me sees Him who sent Me. I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness. And if anyone here is My words and does not believe, I do not judge Him, for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world. He Who reject Me and does not receive My words as that which judges him. The WORD that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.’”
Many people have Jesus wrong, many street preachers, many internet preachers, many church leaders… They have this idea that they should call fire out of heaven and kill sinners. Jesus did not come to kill sinners, He came to call sinners to repentance, to save their souls. He doesn’t want us just to continue to be sinners, but he wants to save us from our sins, THUS us calling us OUT of our sins, that we may be saints, holy and pure before our God.
I want to continue with what Jesus said here, vs. 49 and 54; “For I have not spoken on My own authority but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. And I know that His command is everlasting life, therefor, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me so I speak.”
Jesus and His Father are ONE. That doesn’t mean that Jesus is the Father or the Father is Jesus, (as some Pentecostals believe), But He and His Father are ONE. And Jesus has the words of everlasting life. If we want to enter into the presence of God, then we need to live according to the words of Jesus, not someone else’s words, not someone else’s standards, not their doctrines, not there interpretations of God. But we have to live according to the words of Jesus, THAT is the law for us. Will we live according to the words of Jesus and never be ashamed? Or will we keep ourselves reserved because of what the church says, their laws, their doctrines, do we fear being a hypocrite?
You know I would rather be a hypocrite in the eyes of people and right before God, then a hypocrite before God and look right before church people, before the pastor’s, before the elders and deacons, before all the lay people in the church. I would rather be right before God and have everyone think I’m a liar and a hypocrite and a false prophet.
What about you? Would you rather be right with God and detested by people? Would you rather them call you false, but be right with God? Or would you rather have everyone speak well of you, but in reality, God is against your soul, because you play the hypocrite and you haven’t really repented of the sins He’s called you to repent from?
Don’t Look to the standard of men, don’t look to the standard of people. Jesus and His words are the words that will judge you and me and everyone on the last day. Are we living according to the words of Jesus and are we honoring Him and living for Him with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength? May the grace of Jesus be with you.
